CREATIVE & PERFORMING ARTS

READY TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE

Championed as part of the core curriculum and supported through co-curricular activities and clubs, the Arts are at the heart of our STEAM curriculum, inspiring creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills for tomorrow’s world.

Every day pupils, whether in their classrooms, technology workshop, art room or in our purpose-built Performing Arts Wing, which houses our Drama Studio, Music Rooms and Dance Studio, pupils can be found exploring their creative talent.

Pupils are also encouraged to participate in the Bronze Arts Award programme.

We are proud to have been awarded the Artsmark Gold Award and to be a Trinity Champion Centre 2023-24.

CREATIVE ARTS

ART, CRAFT, DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

Art, craft, design and technology are celebrated throughout the school with pupils developing their practical skills in a wealth of different artistic mediums. This allows each pupil to explore their own particular blend of creativity.

Alongside scheduled lessons, pupils are encouraged to develop their creativity and discover their talents by helping with costumes and scenery for School Productions and participating in school, local and national competitions. Their studies are further enhanced by regular visits to galleries and museums.

In Year 7 our pupils enjoy a carousel of Food Technology, Textiles and Woodwork with Woodwork (Resistant Materials) also incorporated in Year 8 and Year 9 lessons.

DIGITAL ARTS

DIGITAL ARTS

With every child from Reception to Year 11 provided with a 1-2-1 device, our pupils are encouraged to use digital technology as part of their creative or presentation process.

Whether they are using Minecraft to create a new sustainable world, Book Creator to create a presentation on their learning about the Respiratory System, Flip Grid to record a video about their learning on Ancient Romans, or just creating a picture using Paint 3D, our pupils are developing digital and creative skills that spark creativity, encourage innovative thinking and prepare them for the future workplace.

We are delighted with the rich array of opportunities for our child in music, art and drama that allows them to explore their creative side, express themselves and gain valuable confidence.
